In this day and age we all need to cut chemical exposure, to our bodies and in our environment. It is especially important to avoid putting chemicals on our skin, since the skin is our largest organ, anything applied to the skin is absorbed, as much as if we had eaten it. If you wouldn’t eat it, it shouldn’t go on your skin.

DSCN8088I need to use chemical free products, due to MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity).  I am also allergic to all commercial deodorants on the market. The only thing that I have been able to use, for the past several years, is a salt rock crystal, but that hasn’t been 100% effective. So, I have been wanting to find something that is gentle and effective at the same time.

Following is the recipe that I came up with. It works well, for me, and is gentle enough, that I don’t get a rash, as I have with other deodorants.

Herbal Spray-On Deodorant

5 tsp. Vodka

6 tsp. Colloidal Silver

1 tsp. Vegetable Glycerine

10 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil

10 drops White Thyme Essential Oil

10 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

25 drops Grapefruit Seed Extract

in a glass bowl, mix the above ingredients with a whisk, to totally incorporate. Pour into a 2 oz. Spray bottle. shake bottle before each use, then use 1-2 sprays under each arm.
