Some things, that I take to help with stress are:
Suntheanine or L-Theanine –
I actually take one capsule, of this at bedtime, to help me relax enough to go to sleep. I take a few other things, that I will mention below.
Lemon Balm/Passion Flower and Scull Cap Complex –
This is a combination of three excellent herbs, for calming the mind.  This is another one that I take an hour before bedtime, to help my mind relax enough, that I can go to sleep.
L-Tryptophan –
I take this one hour before bedtime, to help me relax, as well. The side benefit, of this, is that it helps your body to produce Serotonin, so that during the day, you are less likely to be depressed, and therefore, less stressed.
Melatonin –
This one is 3mg and should be taken 30-60 minutes before bedtime, to help you sleep.    Melatonin, is the “sleep hormone”.  In a normal body, Melatonin should be balanced with Serotonin.  However, for many reasons, these to get out of balance. When Melatonin is low at night, it is difficult to go to sleep. Taking Melatonin helps to bring better Melatonin, Serotonin balance, thus helping you to better sleep and wake up, feeling refreshed.

I have found that when I take the above four supplements/herbs, I tend to be calmer, during the day, less likely to be stressed, and also sleep better, waking refreshed in the morning.  I used to have really bad insomnia, and was always tired. Since I started taking these, I go to sleep within five minutes and wake refreshed (for the most part), in the morning.
